Emma Jensen

Emma Jensen

Vice President, Business at Optus

With a career spanning Australia, the UK, and Europe, she has successfully steered billion-dollar businesses and led high-performing marketing teams across a range of sectors, with deep experience in telco, loyalty, and financial services.

Currently, as the Chief Customer Officer for Business at Optus, Emma holds full P&L accountability, driving growth in one of the company’s most critical segments.  This role demonstrates a consistent theme throughout her career: a passion to drive customer experience and growth through data, technology and a deep understanding of people, blending creativity with commercial acumen, and insights with innovation.

Emma’s journey at Optus includes leading various marketing functions - overseeing go-to-market strategies, customer value management, data and insights, and customer marketing across all segments. She also led Virgin Mobile, where she had end-to-end responsibility for the business, from brand and marketing strategy to product development, commercial performance and channel management.

Before moving into telco, Emma held senior roles in financial services and agency side. She led the regional brand strategy for Citibank in Europe, spearheaded acquisition and loyalty programs, and drove digital and channel transformation initiatives. Her cross-industry experience gives her a unique edge in navigating complex markets and delivering sustainable growth.

A passionate advocate for the power of marketing to drive transformation and business growth, Emma is committed to supporting the next generation of creative, data-driven leaders, always pushing boundaries to move the sector forward and playing a mentoring role to many.  Beyond the boardroom, Emma is a strong supporter of female entrepreneurship. Her role on the Strategy Council for Apropela reflects her dedication to empowering women founders and shaping a more inclusive future for business.
